MEX Talent Search 2012- an initiative of MEX-was organized at St. Xavier’s College, Maitighar, amidst much hype and buzz from the participating students. The event commenced with a welcome speech by the former Miss Nepal, Sadikshya Shrestha. The moderator then introduced the competition and the rules thereafter to the prevailing audience. One by one, students were asked to shed light on the topic entitled, “Contribution of Securities Market in Nepalese Economy” The students cited numerous examples related to the topic and exuberantly expressed their opinions. The esteemed panel of judges evaluating the students on their public speaking ability included the Managing Director of MEX Nepal, Mr. Dipendra Khatiwada, the Principal of the college itself, Fr. Augustine Thomas S. J. and representing Expedient Services Private Limited, a broker affiliated with MEX, Mr.Kanahiya Ghiraiya. The judges evaluated the students on various aspects including the content furnished, delivery and persuasion amongst others. At the conclusion of the event, Miss. Smithu Ghising emerged victorious edging out Miss. Gita Khatiwada to the runners-up position. The winner and the runner-up received certificates from the Principal of the college.
