MEX Talent Search 2012- an initiative of MEX-was organized at Kathford International College of Engineering & Management amidst much hype and buzz from the participating students. The competition began with the introduction to the competition and the rules thereafter by the moderator. One by one, students were asked to shed light on the topic entitled, “Derivative Market in Nepal: Issues, Scope & Challenges”. The students cited numerous examples related to the topic and exuberantly expressed their opinions. The esteemed panel of judges evaluating the students on their public speaking ability included the Senior Assistant Manager of R&D Dept. at MEX, Mr. Vivek Risal, the Faculty Member of the college itself, Mr. Shishir Dahal and representing Marvellous Commodities Investment Private Limited, a broker affiliated with MEX, Mrs. Lajana Shrestha. The judges evaluated the students on various aspects including the content furnished, delivery and persuasion amongst others. Due to a tie for the runners-up position, the concerned participants were asked to prepare an on-the-spot speech on the topic entitled, “Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?” At the conclusion of the event, Mr. Roshan Ghimire emerged victorious edging out Mr. Rupesh Neupane to the runners-up position. The winner and the runner-up received certificates from the Principal of the college, Mr. Prabhat K. C.
